About the Course

This Florida-specific course equips participants with a comprehensive understanding of police labor and employment protections. You’ll gain practical knowledge on officer misconduct investigations, the Police Officer/Correctional Officer Bill of Rights, and the discipline process—from initial complaint through Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission (CJS&T) reporting. An effective internal affairs or professional standards investigation requires credibility, fairness, and compliance with agency policy and law. This program delivers essential strategies for evaluating your agency’s procedures, managing investigations, and understanding the role of executives, investigators, unions, and statutory updates that shape the discipline process.
